THAT’S RIGHT!  After 3 years of planning to bring a Bicycle Skills Progression park to Lompoc we can finally start building the RIVER BEND BIKE PARK at the dead end of A st at McLaughlin Rd. We have the location prepped and we are ready to go, WE JUST NEED YOU!!! This is a $500,000.00 project that we will be building through volunteers and donations! If you would like to participate in this project we could use your help with Manpower, equipment or money! Construction Jan 2014

We had another great day at the River Bend Bike Park. More fun in the dirt which consisted of meeting with the biologist and going over local plant and wildlife. Also we were able to install more orange construction fencing and straw waddles. Straw wattles are to keep all of the rain water from draining into the river bed. It’s a requirement that we have to maintain. Stay tuned for more on the building of the River Bend Bike Park. Here is an excerpt from the Santa Barbara News Press and The Lompoc Record about our bike park. The Riverbend Bike Park Committee scaled another hurdle when the Lompoc City Council supported the committee’s vision of developing a portion of the northeast end of Riverbend Park into a drop-in bicycle skills park for free public use. Brainstorming on a park design could take place as soon as two weeks; there is no completion date set for the park.
