Starting construction Jan. 2014

Early January we met with the biologist to talk about creatures that live nearby in their natural habitats. We want to ensure that we do not encroach on any animal and/or disrupt their home. We had a great briefing with him and then got to work on lining up our orange construction fencing and driving posts to keep out the quads and deter any people that shouldn’t be there from coming in. We hope to be riding this park by the 1st weekend of summer break 2014!

Here is an excerpt from the Santa Barbara News Press and The Lompoc Record about our bike park. The Riverbend Bike Park Committee scaled another hurdle when the Lompoc City Council supported the committee’s vision of developing a portion of the northeast end of Riverbend Park into a drop-in bicycle skills park for free public use. Brainstorming on a park design could take place as soon as two weeks; there is no completion date set for the park.
